Brickell/Roads
Brickell is located south of the Miami River, extending south up to 26th Road right before the the Rickenbacker Causeway. Brickell has changed dramatically from what it used to be 15 years back. Today Brickell is a community filled with residential and commercial highrises commingled in what before used to be just the business sector. Professionals looking to live, work and play in the same zipcodes have flocked to Brickell and made it their home. Where before residential condominiums were only found beyond Brickell avenue and 14th street, today as soon as you come over the Downtown bridge you are overwhelmed with the new Brickell Skyline with such amazing projects like Icon Brickell with three of the most Luxurios condo towners Brickell has to offer including the Viceroy Hotel. Just steps away you have also 500 Brickell, The Plaza, The Avenue and many more new condominiums that has turned Brickell Avenue into an amazing and vibrant community. It is not uncommon to find pedestrians walking their dogs or strolling along Brickell avenue during the evening hours. Where before nightlife in Brickell was limited to a few restaurants and Bars today you can satisfy all your culinary desires with the array of selection found in the neighborhood. The most recent addition to Brickell is Mary Brickell Village, with an assortment of restaurants, boutiques, and services that create a gathering area for high-class retail and restaurants. Some the best and most well-known names are leasing space in the project. The project is designed after a French style village and attracts social gathering and entertainment. Whether you are looking for a quite place to share a glass of wine with friends or somewhere to dance the night away Brickell can be your new destination.
Another important part of the Brickell community is Brickell Key which is a small island shaped like a triangle located just east off 8th street and Brickell Avenue connected via a small bridge. In this small Island you will find families, young professionals and many snow birds which own vacation homes. The Island is an oasis filled with luxurious high rise condos, restaurants and a beautiful park were you find many kids playing in the afternoon hours. Brickell Key is also the home to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. This island although private and tucked away in Brickell is the ideal location for those looking for a peaceful paradise that is just minutes away from Miami’s main attractions.

THE ROADS or as some call it “Brickell Roads”
The Roads community is situated just west of Brickell Avenue, it is a small community of Single Family homes. Settled by one of Miami’s pioneering families in the 1920s, The Roads is part of the city’s original core. It is primarily a residential community, but it does have a few office buildings, some retail, and an emerging restaurant scene. The area has remained stable largely due to the efforts of the Miami Roads Neighborhood Civic Association which has had a huge defending the area from commercial over development by enforcing zoning laws and helping the community prosper. In the past couple of years the Roads has been the destination for families and young upscale professionals looking for a Single Family home. Original owners that lived in this community since World War II have either passed away or moved out and these new buyers are coming in gutting these older homes and giving new life to this community. The prices in the Roads have appreciated quite a bit in the past years mostly due to the fact that there are not many empty lots available and location is absolutely amazing. Today you can find homes in the roads ranging from the high $300′s up to the millions.
Transportation
The Metro‘s Brickell Station
The Roads has two Metrorail stations nearby, the Brickell Station, and the Vizcaya Station. In addition to Metrorail, the Metromover‘s Brickell Loop connects to Metrorail at the Brickell Station, which is close to The Roads, allowing free transit to Downtown. The Metromover is free and stations can be found at roughly every two blocks in Downtown and Brickell. Many bus routes run through The Roads, mostly through Coral Way, The Road’s main avenue.
